Incidentally, the indie told me this is an extremely common fault with MB models. A bit of a hassle so I would go to a really good indie with Star which will ensure you get a proper job without compromising your safety. With the emulators which trick the system into believing there is always a passenger in the car, you will then always have the passenger seat belt warning light on unless you buckle-up the empty seat (or get a separate Airbag light emulator). ![]() It was designed to keep replacement and accident repair costs down and I believe some insurers will not cover the passenger airbag costs if only the driver is on board. The indie said that MB use the passenger seat sensor to stop the passenger airbag being deployed when only the driver is in the car. I was assured that the 'code out' tells the airbags that there is a passenger in the seat and all the airbags will deploy in the event of a shunt. I had same diagnosis and was given 2 options by MB indie.ġ) Replace passenger seat pad £160 + fitting + VatĢ) Star diagnostics "Code Out" of seat pad £60 + Vat
